How is Pfast different from a full Pfenex program?

Our advanced Pfenex strain engineering program is historically used for extremely challenging proteins or for identified lead candidates where expression optimization is needed. A full platform screen and scale-up is typically 10 to 12 weeks. Pfast accelerates this process using known high-potential toolbox subsets to quickly drive to the optimal expression strategy, or the final strain itself.

Program Deliverables:

  • Detailed protein titer and analysis of soluble and insoluble fractions via SDS-CGE or ELISA.
  • Analytical assessments via Western blot and/or BLI, a multitude chromatographic method, and peptide mapping, provided at additional costs.
  • Sample material for further testing provided if suitable titers achieved.
  • Strategic recommendations for additional strain improvements, or advancement to 2L scale fermentation.
